SECockpit – I have previously elaborated on an external keyword tool and now I want to spend a bit more time going into a bit more detail on SECockpit which I believe is an indispensable keyword research tool. If you’ve been online for any length of time, you know without a doubt that keyword research is what makes a true marketer. In the previous review of an external keyword tool, I mentioned that I’ve tried plenty of keyword tools including the Google keyword tool, Market Samurai, and plenty of other tools that should probably remain nameless.

Market Samurai was a good tool but I found that it couldn’t keep up with the speed and accuracy that I demanded. Plus, Google didn’t like the fact that my search queries strayed from within the bounds they set. And on a frustrated search I found SECockpit.

If you are serious (and I mean really serious) about doing SEO right, SECockpit is the most vital investment you can make. Unlike Market Samurai which has a one time cost, SECockpit has a recurring, subscription cost. If you don’t like that, then SECockpit is definitely not for you and you would be better served by Market Samurai.

So what makes SECockpit different? For starters, it is blazingly fast. And I don’t mean that lightly. What used to take me HOURS on Market Samurai, I can easily do in a matter of minutes. SECockpit has matured since its launch date around mid-2011 and I think it is for the better.

You see, SECockpit runs in the “cloud” and data retrieval and analysis is several magnitudes faster than I could have possibly imagined. After watching the video by Shane, I knew that SECockpit was for me. In the brief time that I have used it, I have been at the most productive that I have ever been.

SECockpit has allowed me to focus my time and efforts on the keywords that matter, the keywords that have traffic, and the keywords that I want to dominate in. And this by far has been well, well, well worth the $297 subscription price that I paid for it.

Hands down, SECockpit has been an incredible life saver. I still make use of Market Samurai to be sure but for other data.

SECockpit – A Quick Screenie

The screenie above shows at a quick glance, the competition data of the top ten SERP results for your particular keyword. In this case the keyword is “weight loss tips”. Normally, to analyze this information in Market Samurai would take less than 30 seconds but SECockpit presents this data to me in about 5-8 seconds. That has been my experience and you may not experience the same results.

The SECockpit screenie is a little outdated because what you get are a few more color-coded data cells, similar to Market Samurai in that “green” means competition/analysis is favorable and “red” means that competition/analysis is high and may require more effort on your part.

SECockpit – MozRank vs. PR vs… ?

The much loved Y! Site Explorer is now no longer and so what was your favorite source of backlink data is no longer. Now analysis is made a bit more problematic. However sites like Majestic SEO and SEOmoz spider “the web” themselves.

So what’s happening now is a nice alternative source of information. And who do you trust? Regardless of where you get your data from, the most important part is the analysis and that’s where SECockpit really shines! In seconds, data is analyzed for you, presented in a very comprehensive way and color coded for your benefit.
